24 During a conversion I had with Lola Jamerson, she informed me that Robert had married a Betty LNU. She didn't know the date of the marriage. I found a Robert C Vines who married a Betty Shipley on 23 Jul 1949 in Rockwall County, Texas. Robert would have been 16 years 9 months. I don't know if the is the marriage to match the one Lola referred. More research required.

26 Francis Joan Shoemaker believes that her birth father was Claude Akers. I have no other information on Claude and no proof of relationship. Akers, Claude (I7)

27 George Williams and his extended family moved from Harrison County, Virginia (now West Virginia) to Ohio. In the early 1840's the family decided to move south (partly because of the cold weather). All of George's children moved south with him except for Jacob, who decided to stay in Ohio, and John David, who was already living in the Hunt County, Tx area. According to family tradition, one daughter, Mary Ann, died during the move to Texas. No one knows where her grave is located since it is most likely beside a trail. I will add more information later on why the family believes she existed even though there is no 'hard core' proof that she did.

30 I have also seen Mary's father listed as Warren C Spradley (the brother of Bryant). I have left Bryant as
her father as I believe this is the correct listing. Charlie Vines

The following notes were copied from 'The Vines & Russell Family' by Martha N Camp & Wilma Thedford.

"The Spradley information was corrected in 1999 to the research of B.E lmer Spradley in Ala. who has researched the
Spradley family for over fifty years. Also by Ron Head who published an article in the Montgom ery Genealogical
Society Quarterly, Vol. 1 # 3, Summer 1994".
Spradley, Mary Elizabeth (I718)

31 I have also seen Nora as 'Nora Ellis Porterfield'. If this is true, s he may have been married previous. Ellis, Nora Ellen (I607)

32 I have found a marriage record listed in FamilySearch.com indicating that D D Vaden married Micha LNU sometime around 1834. I have assumed that Micha was a nickname for Mickey Austin Blankenship. I now wonder is Mickey may have died during the birth of Mary Jane and D D remarried sometime after. Notice that the next child born for D D is Hannah in 1837. At this time I have not been able to confirm that Micha is a different person; therefore, I am operating on the assumption that Mickey and Micha is the same person.

Blankenship, Mickey Austin "Micha" (I520)

33 I have found multiple dates for George Williams death. It was with the 27th or 29th day of January in 1860 or 1861 or 1863. Judy Morris list his death as January 27, 1863 which agrees with his tombstone. Williams, George SR. (I14)

34 I have seen a reference to a H. C. Vaden who died during the Civil War. This could be Henry, but more proof is needed.
Charlie Vines
Vaden, Henry Clay (I822)

35 In 'The History of Wolfe City, Texas', Donna Brown and June Williams list George's birth in Harrison County, Virginia, which became part of West Virginia during the Civil War. In the same book, Vickie Wilson Sanders list George was born in 1787 in Wales, Ireland. Based on George age on the 1850 census (see documents), his age of 65 would indicate his birth year as 1785. More research needed to confirm birth.

Calculation of birth date is dependent of George's death date and age as listed on his tombstone. Clck Here to view calculation.

Location is now Harrison County, West Virginia, USA
Williams, George SR. (I14)

36 In D D Vaden's Last Will & Testament he listed the following children : Richard S Vaden, Martha S Bledsoe, Elizabeth A Blankenship, Doroth y F Mobley, Mary Jane Jones, Henry C Vaden, Joseph L Vaden, Robert W V aden, Hannah W Vaden, Henrietta O Vaden, and Matilda E Vaden. His wife is listed as Martha (Martha Jones Parr Vaden). It can be found at ht tp://www.rootsweb.com/~tngibson/wills/vaden.htm.

It is unknown where D D was at the time of the 1830 Census was taken . He was not in the counties of Dyer or Gibson. He was not found int he 1830 census of Chesterfield County, VA either. Charlie Vines

Information that I have received concerning Mary Jane Vaden and Samue l Hall Jones states that Mary Jane was born
in Dyer County in 1834. T herefore, D. D. would have arrived in Dyer County in early 1834 or bef ore. Charlie
